Kinesema Labs is an independent, founder-built research and technology studio creating inspectable systems for language, knowledge, and meaning.
Founder and origin

Wei Xian founded Kinesema Labs from Deaf and hard-of-hearing lived experience and a practical interest in language, accessibility, inspectability, and human judgment.
That experience shapes what the studio notices and chooses to build. It does not make one founder the authority for every Deaf or hard-of-hearing person, every signer, or every sign language.
Community, linguistic, accessibility, and technical review remain necessary wherever the work affects people, language, and culture.
Current systems
Both systems are built around the same principle: hidden structure should be made inspectable.
01Language system
An inspectable language system exploring how English can be analysed toward future Singapore Sign Language support. Its parser is in private development, while an open-hand form study is available on kinesema.org. Accepted SgSL translation and signing motion remain later work.
02Knowledge system
A public knowledge explorer that makes reviewed concepts, sources, limitations, and relationships visible. Its current collection can be explored, while conversational answer generation remains unconnected.
Working principles
The studio begins from Deaf and hard-of-hearing experience while recognising that no single person represents an entire community.
Language, culture, accessibility, and other community-sensitive work should involve relevant people rather than treating participation as decoration.
Systems should expose their boundaries, sources, limitations, and review state before they expand in reach or capability. AI can assist without becoming unquestioned authority.
Access should shape content, interaction, language, and architecture rather than being added after a product is complete.
Current stage
Kinesema Labs is an independent, founder-led studio. Kinesema and Atlas are working public research systems, while several language, motion, conversational, and product layers remain in development or unconnected.
AI assists parts of the research and development process. The direction, architecture, review boundaries, and product judgment remain human-led.
Community, technical, accessibility, and product feedback continue to shape what becomes ready next.
