Kinesema Technical Overview
Kinesema is an early-stage language system exploring inspectable representations for Singapore Sign Language (SgSL). The parser is being developed privately; the website no longer provides interactive sentence inspection.
What You Can Explore
The Kinesema approach explains why language structure and human review come before accepted signing motion.
The open-hand study lets you rotate and examine a hand in your browser. It is a separate visual form study, not a reviewed sign, fingerspelling lesson, or translation service.
Private Language Research
Inside the lab, we work on language analysis, vocabulary, proposed SgSL representations, and ways to inspect and revise decisions. These outputs remain proposals requiring linguistic review. The private parser, its rules and lexicons, and internal diagnostics are not distributed with this website.
The former sentence-inspection page now leads to the Kinesema overview. The website’s retired request route returns an unavailable response and does not forward requests to the private parser.
Inspectability and Review
Inspectability means making a decision understandable to the people reviewing it. It does not require publishing every internal rule or research record. Relevant review should distinguish:
- the input and context being considered;
- what was observed and what was proposed;
- the evidence supporting a decision;
- uncertainty and unresolved questions; and
- the limits of any approval.
Technical tests cannot establish naturalness, linguistic correctness, or community approval. Kinesema does not replace Deaf people, interpreters, teachers, signers, or community knowledge.
Language, Form, and Motion
Language representations, hand form, motion planning, and visual presentation are separate parts of the research. An inspectable hand model does not make a language proposal ready for animation. Accepted translation and signing motion remain in development.
